Say goodbye to ALL your hair problems with Jojoba oil

It’s pronounced Hohoba which surprisingly is not an oil persay, but a liquid wax extracted from the jojoba plant (simmondsia chinensis) which is native to the South-western North America.

The pure version of the jojoba oil has a light smell and a golden colour, whereas the processed one is odourless and transparent, which has a long shelf life and makes a good carrier for most of other oils.

It’s the only oil whose molecular structure is similar to sebum (the oil that the scalp naturally produces) which means that it can penetrate deep into the skin layers like one of its own oils.

Jojoba contains the vitamins A, D and E which are known as skin healing vitamins, and B that retains the moisture.

Being a waxy substance, Jojoba oil can form a protective layer over the skin, forming a barrier to external irritants. Plus it’s rich in essential minerals like silicon, copper and zinc who are usually used in anti-dandruff products. On top of all that it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

All of these together would surely lead to a healthy scalp along with the shiny silky hair you’re looking for.

* warm a bit of jojoba oil and massage it into your scalp or applying it on all of your hair, leave it overnight and wash in the morning.

* add a few drops to your shampoo to prevent it from striping out all the natural oils.

* Apply it while the hair is still damp from a hair wash so oil can form a thin waxy coating on each hair shaft, protecting it from the dust and dryness. And this helps to ease the hair growth process.

Disclaimer :

same goes for all herbal therapies, this oil should be kept away from children, and if you are either pregnant, breast feeding, taking medication or have a health condition, you should talk to your physician or consult a health professional before using it.

And to avoid any allergic reactions, you should take a small  amount and apply it on a small part of your skin (behind your ears or iner wrist) and leave it for few hours to see if there are any reactions, if not then it’s safe : )

Also for a longer shelf life keep it in a cool/dark place.
